In my continuing efforts to be creative and collaborate with other artists I came across the band Earths Collide and am hoping to do some photos of them soon; however, in the meantime I am working on some designs for album covers, shirts, stickers etc. and this is my first finished one.
The original idea was just to have EARTHS COLLIDE stacked on top of each other with two planets colliding as an overlay, but this didn’t translate exactly how I wanted so as I was re-arranging the letters I found I really liked having them reflect collision. So instead I went with an overlay of our Earth and made it have a patchwork / quilt effect so it felt simple. This is juxtaposed with the black and white and highly technical drawing behind it, and it also reflects what happens during the inevitable cultural collisions we experience.
